IIT - Kharagpur is the only Indian institute to find a place in the top 100 of the latest QS Employability Ranking, the institute said on Wednesday.
This is the second consecutive year that the institute has been ranked in the top 100 bracket. Last year, however, IIT - Bombay was also in the same league.
IIT - Kharagpur has featured in the range 81-90, out of 200 universities from across the world.
"The institute from which nearly 2,500 students graduate each year, maintains a successful track record of placement for students from the graduating batches enrolling for campus placement," an IIT - Kharagpur media release said.
Other Indian universities to be ranked in the top 200 are IIT -Bombay, IIT - Delhi, IIT - Madras, IIT - Kanpur and Delhi University.
IIT - Kharagpur has been ranked exceptionally well with regard to the parameters of 'Graduate Employability Rate' and 'Employers' Presence' on the Campus.
The other parameters are 'Employer Reputation' -- based on a survey conducted with employers opting for campus recruitment, 'Alumni Outcomes' or performance of alumni, and 'Partnerships with Employers'.
The top three universities ranked globally are Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard University.
The QS Graduate Employability Rankings is a pilot initiative intended to design a new approach for evaluating employability in university rankings. - IANS
