Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh was "evasive" during his second round of questioning at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) headquarters in a disproportionate assets case, CBI officials said on Friday.
The CBI investigators questioned the 81-year-old senior Congress leader for over seven hours after his arrival at the CBI office around 10.50 a.m.
"He is continuously evasive about his illegal wealth and not cooperating in the investigation," said CBI officials.
The officials said Virbhadra Singh's family members and those named in the FIR will soon be summoned in the case involving acquiring wealth disproportionate to Singh's known sources of income.
Singh, who arrived in Delhi on Wednesday, was questioned on Thursday also and confronted with various "evidence" of over Rs 6.03 crore worth of unaccounted assets.
A case was registered on September 23,2015 under the Prevention of Corruption Act against the Chief Minister, his wife Pratibha Singh, Life Insurance Corporation agent Anand Chauhan and associate Chunni Lal.
A preliminary inquiry allegedly found that Virbhadra Singh accumulated assets worth Rs 6.03 crore in his and his family members' names which were disproportionate to his known sources of income. - IANS
