The Delhi High Court on Thursday dismissed the plea of an AAP leader seeking to strike off new allegations levelled by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in a civil defamation case against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders.
A division bench of Justice Pradeep Nandrajog and Justice Mukta Gupta rejected Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashutosh's plea where he challenged a order of single judge dated April 29, by which Jaitley's rejoinder, raising a fresh allegation against AAP leaders, to replies of Kejriwal, Ashutosh and four others, who are party in the defamation suit.
Jaitley filed a civil defamation case against Kejriwal and AAP leaders Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and Deepak Bajpayee that they made "false and defamatory" statements in a case involving the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), thereby harming his reputation. - IANS
