Modi celebrates Diwali with army personnel

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday interacted with army personnel on the occasion of Diwali.
"People celebrate Diwali with their family members and loved ones. I too have come to celebrate it with you," he said while addressing army personnel in Amritsar.

He said he was happy to be among them on the occasion of Diwali.
Modi said he would try to visit three important places associated with the 1995 India-Pakistan war during the day.
Earlier, he laid a wreath and paid respects at the Dograi War Memorial in Khasa, near Amritsar.
"I spent time with our soldiers and we had a wonderful conversation," he wrote on Twitter.
"The Battle of Dograi on September 22, 1965, was one of the toughest battles fought and won by our forces," he said. - IANS
