Railways shares glimpses of 14 modernised stations

The Indian Railways, which has taken up the task of modernising over 400 railway stations across the country, on Thursday showed glimpses of 14 stations where revamp work has been completed.
In a tweet, the Ministry of Railways said, "Indian Railways constantly strives to provide modern facilities and comfortable travel to its passengers. For this, the work of redevelopment and rejuvenation of railway stations across the country is going on rapidly."
The ministry also attached a 2.21-minute long video clip to highlight the works of modernisation across its network, showing the modern amenities in 14 railway stations.
Indian Railways has been working on beautification and modernisation of railway stations for the past couple of years. From constructing foot-over-bridges to installing lifts and escalators, Railways has been working had to improve station infrastructure.
Railways is aiming to provide airport-like facilities to train passengers. Recently, Varanasi's Manduadih railway station was transformed completely. The transformed station now has a spacious waiting area, circulating area, booking/reservation office, cafeteria, food court, waiting rooms and more.
Similarly, the ministry also highlighted the works done at stations like Walsad and Chayapuri in Gujarat, Karnool and Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, Warangal in Telangana, Sainagar Shirdi and Solapur in Maharashtra, Selam in Tamil Nadu, Dimapur in Nagaland, Durgapur in West Bengal, New Tinsukia and Rangia in Assam and New Delhi.
In the video, the ministry also highlighted the premium trains launched by the Piyush Goyal-led ministry like the semi-high speed Vande Bharat Express and the IRCTC operated luxurious Tejas Express.
The Indian Railways has planned to modernise 400 stations across India.-IANS
