High alert sounded in Jaipur, western border of Rajasthan

High alert has been sounded in Jaipur following intelligence reports that some armed terrorists may try to sneak into India on Independence Day to create disturbance in view of the prevailing situation in Kashmir.
Leaves of all police station in-charges have been cancelled and security has been enhanced at railway stations, airports, bus stops, tourist spots and religious locations.
According to Police Commissioner Anand Shrivastav, "The security has been enhanced after getting inputs from different security agencies keeping I-Day celebrations in mind. The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Special Operations Group (SOG) have also been asked to remain alert. All buses coming from outside are being thoroughly checked."
In fact, high alert has also been sounded on the western border of Rajasthan in view of any misadventure attempt by Pakistan backed terrorists.
Fighter planes have intensified their training sessions on the airbase situated near the border in the western sector.
'After the Balakot air strike, Pakistan had sent many UAVs via Shri Ganganagar which were brought down by the Indian Army. Hence, strong vigil is being done at the borders. Both Air Force and Army stand on high alert," sources said.
The Border Security Force (BSF) has also sounded 'Operation Alert' under which extra vigil is being done at the border areas. The border patrol has also been increased. IANS
