Stalin raises question over TACTV chief's appointment
08-August-2019
DMK President M.K. Stalin on Thursday demanded an answer from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami as to why a person operating a cable TV business was appointed as the Chairman of Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation Ltd (TACTV).
In a statement issued here, Stalin questioned the appointment of Udumalai K. Radhakrishnan as Chairman of TACTV, a state government company, when he owns a cable TV business with two lakh connections/subscribers.
Radhakrishnan is also the state Minister for Animal Husbandry.
On Wednesday, Palaniswami dropped from his Council of Ministers M. Manikandan who was the Minister for Information Technology after the later publicly criticised Radhakrishnan.
Stalin demanded the immediate removal of Radhakrishnan as Chairman of TACTV and a probe by Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) into the sourcing of set-top box by the company. IANS
