Car used by CPI-M MLA seized in attempt to murder case
03-August-2019
A Kerala Police probe team on Saturday seized a car used by CPI-M MLA A.M. Shamsheer as part of its ongoing investigation in an attempt to murder case of rebel party member C.O.T. Naseer.
Naseer, a popular CPI-M worker, quit the party in 2015 and was an Independent candidate from the Vadakara Lok Sabha constituency. He survived the attack in May that occurred a few days before the general elections.
A few local CPI-M leaders were arrested who confessed that the conspiracy of the attack had taken place in the car, owned by Shamsheer's brother, and used by Shamsheer.
Reacting to Saturday's development, Naseer said the information given to the police had come out in public domain last month and the police also knew it.
Kannur Lok Sabha member and senior Congress leader K.Sudhakaran said: "All the evidences are there, but the police have not been able to unravel the conspiracy angle. We will pursue this case to its logical conclusion." IANS
