Army officer found dead near New Delhi railway station
30-July-2019
An Army officer was found dead on a railway track near the New Delhi railway station in what police said on Tuesday could be a case of suicide.
The officer has been identified as Lt. Diwakar Puri, who was from the Army Medical Corps and was a resident of Delhi. His body was found cut into two.
Police said Puri attended a training in Lucknow and was returning to Delhi on Shramjeevi Express. But after reaching Delhi on Monday, his family could not contact him.
"A search was launched by the family but it went in vain after which the family approached the police. Two hours of intensive search led to the recovery of the body. Prima facie it appears to be suicide," a senior police officer said.
"It was found that the officer had left his luggage in the train," the officer added. IANS
