5 electrocuted in UP paddy field

Four teenagers and a woman were electrocuted when they came in contact with a high tension wire while sowing paddy in a field in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj district.
Superintendent of Police Maharajganj Rohit Singh Sajwan said the incident took place on Monday at Sidhwari Tola in Pharenda tehsil.
The deceased have been identified as Laxmi, 17, Radhika ,18, Soni, 18, Vandani, 18, and Subhawati, 45. All of them were sowing paddy when they came in contact with the high tension wire.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the district magistrate to probe the incident. He also announced a financial assistance of Rs 13 lakh to the family members of each of the deceased.
A statement issued by the state government said that a committee has been constituted to probe the incident. IANS
