Apple CEO Tim Cook presented the keynote speech on climate change at the Ceres 30th Anniversary Gala in New York.
Ceres is a non-profit company which aims to promote sustainable energy for the environment and the economy.
At the event, Cook described how Apple views battling climate change as an opportunity, Cult of Mac reported on Tuesday.
"We don't see climate change as risk, but opportunity", Cook reportedly told the audience. "With our supply chain partners, we see a chance to develop new and valuable competencies. And because it is the right thing to do".
He also appreciated the company's Vice President of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives Lisa Jackson who joined Apple in 2013, earlier leading the Environmental Protection Agency under President Barack Obama.
As per the report, Cook also discussed how Apple was able to hit its target of powering its facilities with 100 per cent renewable energy.IANS
