MSc, M Tech holders join as SI Jharkhand police

More than 300 science post-graduates and engineers have joined Jharkhand Police. Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday participated in the passing out parade of 1,170 Sub Inspectors.
Of the 1,170, 265 are engineers, 57 M Tech, more than 50 are Masters of Science (MSc) and 72 are women.
"I congratulate all of you on becoming police officers. People expect you to develop good relations with them and you will do your duties with honesty. In any circumstances you will win the faith of the people," said Raghubar Das at the passing out parade.
"You are supposed to contribute in making Jharkhand a fearless and Maoist-free state. The priority of the government is to provide fearless, corruption free governance and make the state free from Maoist activities. The newly appointed police officials should develop friendly relations with people of the state and fulfil their duties with responsibility," he added.
With this, Jharkhand has now got 2500 new sub inspectors. Wednesday's passing out parade was held at the Padma training centre in Hazaribagh and was also attended by Kamal Nayan Chaubey (DGP) and other senior police officials.IANS
