Markets open on positive note, PSU banks up

Indian markets opened higher on Wednesday led by gains in banks and financial sector stocks amid supportive global markets.
At 9.45 a.m., the Sensex was trading 121.86 points higher at 38,627.95. It opened at 38,637.05 from its previous close of 38,506.09.
The broader Nifty also gained 47 points to trade at 11,461.55 points in the morning.
On Tuesday, domestic markets ended higher on the back of firm global cues on optimism related to the US-China trade deal.
US markets ended higher tracking strong corporate earnings results, ICICI securities said in a note.
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) bought Rs 436.02 crore worth of stocks, while the Domestic Institutional Investors purchased Rs 929.39 crore worth of scrips on Tuesday. IANS
