BJP former MLA Bhaiyya Lodhi, son join Congress
03-April-2019
BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh MLA Bhaiyya Lodhi and his son Dinesh Lodhi joined the Congress here on Wednesday as the senior Lodhi said he was feeling "suffocated" in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Congress MP and General Secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia was present when the father and son joined the Congress at Bombay Kothi in Shivpuri district.
Welcoming the new members, Scindia said: "The Lodhi and Scindia families have age-old relations. They are now back in the family. "
In 1998, Bhaiyya Lodhi left the Congress and joined the BJP. He then moved to Uma Bharati's Bharatiya Janashakti Party in 2008 but returned to the BJP after losing the Assembly elections.
Commenting on this, BJP's district President Sushil Raghuvanshi said: "He (Bhaiyya Lodhi) always had the mindset of a Congressman. The BJP had given him respect. Lodhi leaving the BJP will not make any difference." -IANS
