Fans await update on Mandhana Muchhal marriage after sudden Sunday cancellation

Two days after the sudden cancellation of the wedding between cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal, there is still no clear word on when the ceremony will take place. The couple was set to tie the knot on Sunday in Sangli with all arrangements completed and pre wedding rituals already celebrated in a grand manner.
However the celebrations came to a complete halt on Sunday morning when Smritis father Shrinivas Mandhana reportedly suffered a serious health scare and was immediately taken to hospital. Family members present at the venue said the situation created panic and sadness among everyone who had gathered for the wedding.

Later that evening it emerged that Palash too had been admitted to hospital after experiencing extreme stress. His mother told reporters that her son had wanted the wedding to stop as soon as he came to know about Smritis fathers condition and added that Palash looked up to him with great respect. She insisted that the family chose to postpone the wedding out of love and concern not due to any dispute between the couple.

Even so the situation has led to plenty of speculation online. Smriti deleted all wedding related photographs from her Instagram account soon after the decision which fuelled rumours of a possible misunderstanding or fallout. There have also been unverified reports on social media about Palashs past relationship conversations which are being widely circulated without any confirmation.

On Tuesday night close friends said both families are staying away from the public eye as they want to focus on Smritis fathers recovery. Meanwhile fans of the cricketer and followers of the Muchhal siblings continued to post messages of support and curiosity with many requesting the couple to release a statement.

As of Wednesday morning there is no official word on whether the wedding will be rescheduled or if a new date will be fixed. Family sources say they are hoping for better news on the health front first and do not want to take any decision in haste.
