Mamata observes Swami Vivekananda's 156th birth anniversary

Urging everyone to remember Swami Vivekananda's message of peace and brotherhood, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday observed the great thinker's 156th birth anniversary.
"Today is the birth anniversary of the great preacher and philosopher, #SwamiVivekananda. We must always remember the message of peace and brotherhood that Swami Ji stood for," Banerjee tweeted.
"We are observing #VivekUtsav in his memory across the state."
Mentioning the importance of the day across the country she wrote: "#SwamiVivekananda's birthday is also celebrated as #NationalYouthDay. The youth of the country should come together to dispel the climate of hatred and uncertainty and work for the greater glory of this great nation".
Vivekananda was born as Narendranath Datta in the then Calcutta on January 12, 1863. He died on July 4, 1902.-IANS
