27-July-2017
Yet another incident of desecration has been reported in North Goa, where a cross has been found vandalised, police said on Thursday.
A Catholic cross installed in a remote area in Chimbel village was found damaged, a police spokesperson said, adding investigations were on.
"We are in the process of questioning locals to see if someone was seen moving about in a suspicious manner. The exact time and date of desecration is not clear," the spokesperson said.
This is the second desecration incident reported in the state in the last three days. On Tuesday, a graveyard in South Goa's Marcaim village was vandalised by unknown persons.
Earlier, police had arrested a 50-year-old taxi driver for a series of desecration incidents across the state for the last several years. - IANS
