Cocaine Racket Busted, Two Tamil Actors, Nigerian Woman Held
28-June-2025

Tamil Nadu is in the grip of a drug scandal that has stunned the film industry and shocked the public. As part of a sweeping anti-drug operation, two actors have been arrested in connection with a cocaine trafficking racket that has so far led to 25 arrests, including a Nigerian woman believed to be a key supplier.
The crackdown has revealed how drugs were being supplied to parties and nightclubs, and how some celebrities were buying them. Police have seized cocaine, meth, MDMA, LSD, ganja, and ganja oil, along with electronic items and cash.
One of the most high-profile arrests was that of Tamil actor Srikanth, who was picked up from his home in Nungambakkam, Chennai, on June 23. According to the police, Srikanth had allegedly bought cocaine around 40 times. After a medical test confirmed drug use, the actor was sent to Puzhal prison.
Actor Krishna, who came under the police radar, was initially called for questioning but claimed he had health issues like gastritis and heart problems and denied using drugs. Later, Krishna absconded, and a police team located him in Kerala and he was arrested on June 26 along with a drug dealer named Jeshveer alias Kevin.
Police conducted raids at their residences and reportedly seized cocaine, meth, MDMA, ganja, and cash. Police also found chat messages and deleted files that linked Krishna to drug dealings. Both men are currently in custody while the investigation continues.
As the crackdown continues, police have arrested a 41-year-old Nigerian woman named Sarah Kumama, also known by the names Happiness and Blessings, in Bengaluru. She is thought to be a key player in the drug network that connects Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. As the investigations continue, more arrests are likely. - TWL Bureau
