Is the U.S. Going to Join Israel in the Conflict Against Iran?
17-June-2025
Recent developments have led to speculation that the United States may get involved in the war between Israel and Iran. As tensions rise in the Middle East, former US President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, and wrote: “Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran.” The message has triggered fresh concerns of an escalation in the region.
Trump also wrote, “We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran. Iran had good sky trackers and other defensive equipment, and plenty of it, but it doesn’t compare to American made, conceived, and manufactured ‘stuff.’ Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA.”
These remarks came after Trump left the ongoing G7 Summit in Canada and returned to Washington. French President Emmanuel Macron claimed Trump left the summit to work on a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. Trump dismissed this, calling Macron “publicity seeking” and saying, “Wrong! He has no idea why I am now on my way.”
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the U.S. has deployed the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier to the region, and refuelling aircraft closer to the conflict zone. While the U.S. claims it is a defensive move, the timing indicates a higher level of alert.
Though the U.S. has not made any formal announcement about joining the war, Trump’s recent statements, the presence of U.S. troops in the region, and the evacuation alert have increased speculation over whether the U.S. is preparing to enter the conflict in support of Israel. - TWL Bureau
