PMK Founder Ramadoss Blasts Anbumani in Explosive Press Meet
29-May-2025

In a dramatic press conference held at his residence in Thailapuram near Tindivanam, Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder Dr. S. Ramadoss on Thursday launched a scathing attack on his son and party president Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss. His strong words reflected the growing tensions and open rift between the father and son, which have shaken the party in recent months.
Ramadoss said he was compelled to speak out after Anbumani allegedly misled party cadres about his removal as president. “It was my mistake to make him a Union Minister at 35,” he said, expressing deep regret.
The PMK patriarch cited incidents of Anbumani tearing up appointment letters, humiliating youth wing members, and disrupting party meetings. He also recalled an incident during Pongal where Anbumani allegedly threw a bottle at his mother during a family argument.
Ramadoss criticised Anbumani’s political decisions, including forcing an alliance with the BJP for the 2024 elections against his advice. “An AIADMK-PMK alliance would have helped us win at least three seats,” he claimed.
He further questioned Anbumani’s decision to open a separate office in Panayur and accused him of sidelining the party's executive committee and showing disrespect to senior leaders, including the late Kaduvetti Guru.
“The very calf I raised has turned on me,” an emotional Ramadoss said, expressing anguish over the deepening rift within the party. - TWL Bureau
