Tamil Nadu added most green energy capacity

Tamil Nadu has added the highest renewable power generation capacity - mainly through wind power - during the last three years, the central government said Monday.
The data of renewable energy added in last three years in the country released by the new and renewable energy ministry show that a total of 12,436 MW was added, of which wind energy contributed the highest followed by bio power and solar energy.
Tamil Nadu (3,113 MW) has added the highest green power followed by Gujarat (2,389 MW) and Rajasthan (1,930 MW), the ministry said.
The ministry has allotted 185 grid connected solar power plants under different schemes during the last three years. Of these, 132 power plants have been commissioned by January 2013, it added. – IANS
