Guerrilla killed in Kashmir gunfight

A separatist guerrilla was shot dead so far in an ongoing gunfight between militants and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district on Monday, police said.
"Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Wudar Bala (Handwara) village today on specific information that militants were hiding there.
"When the cordon was tightened, hiding militants opened fire at the security forces triggering the gunfight," a senior police officer told IANS here.
"One militant has been killed so far. The operation is still going on," the officer added. - IANS
