Thunderstorm disrupts power supply in northeast
Imphal
22-April-2016
Inclement weather continued in most of the northeastern states with a thunderstorm damaging houses and disrupting power supply, official sources said on Friday.
On Thursday evening, a strong thunderstorm lashed several parts of Manipur and other neighbouring states leaving a trail of devastation.
The thunderstorm twisted and uprooted several electric poles in Manipur plunging several parts of the state into darkness. Power was, however, restored in some parts on Friday afternoon.
The Met Office says that the inclement weather shall continue for some days. The sky is still overcast and there were heavy showers in several northeastern states. - IANS
