Chhattisgarh praised on Scheduled Castes' welfare

National Commission for Scheduled Castes Chairman P.L. Punia, Tuesday praised the BJP government in Chhattisgarh saying its schemes for the socially marginalised sections of society could be models for others states.
Presiding over a meeting held here to take stock of schemes launched in the state for the welfare of the Scheduled Castes that make up 12 percent of state's 2.55 crore population, Punia said that Chhattisgarh had been doing commendable work for the social and economic uplift of the community.
"The schemes launched by the Chhattisgarh for welfare of the SC community can be a role model for other states to follow," Punia said. - IANS
