Haryana makes LED lights mandatory for housing colonies
Chandigarh

Haryana has made the use of light emitting diode (LED) lamps mandatory by amending the zoning plans of licensed colonies and change of land use (CLU) granted sites, an official spokesman said.
A spokesman of the town and country planning department said on Tuesday that the owner would ensure the installation of LED lamps for the campus and buildings of colonies and sites.
"Implementation of these conditions would be ensured at the time of grant of occupation certificate," he said.
The colonizer or owner could also install LED lamps instead of compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) in the existing projects for internal and street lighting, the spokesman added. - IANS
