Girl killed, three injured in Assam blast

A minor girl was killed and three other children were injured in a blast here in Assam's Karbi Anglong district on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The blast took place at Harilal Basti in Diphu town around 3 p.m.
"Four children -- two boys and two girls -- were playing with some objects and something suddenly exploded injuring four of them," a police official said.
The four were taken to a hospital immediately, but Tulima Begum (6) died during treatment, police said.
The three injured were identified as Abdul Halim (8), Mukibur Rahman (6) and Halatjan Begum (12).
Although police were yet to ascertain the exact cause of the explosion, they ruled out the possibilities of a bomb, grenade or improvised explosive device (IED). - IANS
