30-December-2015
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was shifted to the ICU of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here on Wednesday, a week after being admitted to the hospital over severe fever and diabetes problems.
"Mufti Muhammad Sayeed has been admitted in AB 8 ICU of the institute (AIIMS). He is presently sick, requiring oxygen therapy but hemodynamically stable," said Amit Gupta, spokesperson of AIIMS.
Gupta also said that Sayeed continued to be on antibiotics, antifungal drugs and supportive therapy and is being closely monitored by a team of experts.
The 79-year-old leader was flown to the national capital from Jammu and Kashmir on December 24 as he suffered from fever. He is a patient of acute diabetes and has been on a routine check up every month at the institution.
However, he was admitted to AIIMS after his condition deteriorated. A team constituted under Ashraf Ganie of the endocrinology department of the hospital is monitoring him. - IANS
