Gurugram firms to stick to 'work from home' practice
27-April-2020
Amid the lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the business process outsorcing (BPO) units, multinational companies and call centers located here have been advised to stick to the 'work from home' practice.
Though, there is no official direction, the top officials have been advising this to avoid crowding to tackle the Covid-19 spread.
"The idea is to maintain social distancing as much as we can and hence it's an advice to such offices. We have not given any direction or notification issued from state government," said V.S. Kundu, Additional Chief Secretary of Haryana and nodal Covid-19 officer.
"Till the time, a vaccine is invented, we will have to work on containment and the social distancing is proven formula to break the chain of virus spread," he said.
Lokesh Agrawal, CEO of a BPO, said, "Unless and until, we receive authorisation from the state government, we will not start commercial operations from our offices. We are continuing 'work from home'. Though the coronavirus crisis has hit our business hard, I believe working from home is safer and in the interest of society and nation." -IANS
