Amid a battle against the novel coronavirus, the Petroleum Ministry now plans to rope in LPG cylinders delivery boys among those in the forefront of the fight to prevent the spread of the deadly virus in the country.
Dubbing these men as ‘frontline corona warriors', Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said he had a videoconference call with 1,000 LPG dealers across the country and directed them to get their delivery boys spread awareness on coronavirus.
The delivery boys will educate the customers on the importance of wearing face masks, washing of hands, social distancing to defeat coronavirus, apart from the downloading of the Aarogya Setu app.
The dealers were also asked to supply three LPG cylinders free of charge to intended beneficiaries under the Centre's Ujjwala scheme to help them cope with the hardships faced by them due to the nationwide lockdown.
The Minister directed the dealers to ensure proper sanitisation of gas cylinders and other health precautions at their business premises to protect both the delivery boys and the customers. IANS
