Rs 1-cr compensation plan extended to more Delhi officials

The kin of police officials and others who die while fighting the novel coronavirus in Delhi would also be given a compensation of Rs 1 crore each, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Saturday.
These officials includes principals and teachers and civil defence personnel. Earlier, this benefit was applicable only to the kin of doctors, paramedical and sanitation staff who died in the line of duty while fighting coronavirus.
Apart from above-mentioned personnel, officials involved in relief and evacuation works have also been brought under this benefit.
At present, policemen in Delhi are involved enforcing the lockdown amid the coronavirus scare whereas the teaching faculty is involved in the distribution of food to the needy amid the lockdown. IANS
