Nitish is Bihar's tallest leader: Shatrughan
09-November-2015
A day after the Grand Alliance triumphed in Bihar's assembly polls, BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha on Monday called on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and described him as the state's "tallest leader".
Nitish Kumar was also the most successful chief minister in the country after the late Jyoti Basu of West Bengal, Sinha told the media after meeting the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader.
He also called Nitish Kumar a respected politician.
Sinha, who has been openly critical of the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership both during the election campaign and after the results came out on Sunday, said he had not worked against the BJP in any way.
"But if the BJP wants to take action against me, I cannot stop the party," he added.
Nitish Kumar's Grand Alliance, which also includes the Rashtriya Janata Dal of Lalu Prasad and the Congress, on Sunday routed the BJP combine in the battle for the 243-seat Bihar assembly.
Sinha has repeatedly said that he wanted to campaign for the BJP but was not allowed to by its leadership. - IANS
