Man who assaulted Safdarjung docs sent to judicial custody
10-April-2020
A man, who was recently arrested for allegedly attacking two female resident doctors of Safdarjung Hospital in South Delhi's Gautam Nagar, was denied bail and sent to judicial custody by a court here on Friday.
Sanjeev Sharma (42) had attacked the duo for ‘spreading coronavirus' when they were buying groceries outside their residence on Wednesday night. He has now been sent to judicial custody till April 24.
Delhi Police had registered a case against the accused under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for molestation, outraging the modesty of women and causing hurt and wrongful restraint.
The court accepted the argument put forth by police that the offence was "serious in nature and that the accused should not be enlarged on bail". IANS
