Bhubaneswar MC declares Satya Nagar as containment zone
08-April-2020
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed Satya Nagar area and declared it a containment zone after a coronavirus positive case was reported in the area.
A BMC order said the positive case in Satya Nagar area had no recent travel history either to other countries nor within India.
"To prevent any possible spread of COVID-19, it is necessary to mark the affected area a containment zone so as to restrict public movement," said the order issued by BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary.
It said area residents will not be allowed to step out.
"All the inhabitants within the containment zone shall strictly remain at home. All the shopping establishments of whatsoever nature shall be closed immediately. The supply of essentials and medical requirements will be ensured through various teams formed by BMC," said the BMC order.
The inhabitants have been asked to call Helpline no. 1929 for any complaints.
Notably, the BMC has already sealed some other areas of Bhubaneswar like Surya Nagar, Bomikhal, Sundarpada, Jadupur, and Begunia. IANS
