118 Covid-19 cases, 37,713 under surveillance in JK

The J&K administration has placed 37,713 people under surveillance. According to the daily media bulletin on Covid-19, here on Tuesday, of the 125 positive cases, 118 are active positive, 4 have recovered and 3 died.

Also, 9,209 people are in isolation at the government-operated facilities, 567 in hospital quarantine, 118 in hospital isolation and 20,735 under home surveillance.

Besides, 7,084 people have completed the 28-day surveillance. Of the 1,900 samples sent for testing, 1,763 tested negative and 12 reports are awaited.

The general public has been urged to stay indoors, strictly implement social distancing, disclose recent travel history to Covid-19 affected countries and report any contact with positive cases voluntarily. It also urged people to stay active and follow workout plans to remain healthy.

The people have been advised to avoid unnecessary hospital visits. In case of someone developing fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, medical advice should be sought by calling on Covid-19 helpline numbers.

In case of an emergency, the people can avail free ambulance services 24x7 at their doorsteps by calling on toll-free number 108. Pregnant women and sick infants can avail free ambulance services by dialling toll-free number 102.

A 24x7 toll-free national helpline number 1075 has been activated for support, guidance and response to health related queries on coronavirus. Several helpline numbers -- 0191-2549676 (UT level cell for J&K), 0191-2520982, 0191-2674444, 0191-2674115 (for Jammu division), 0194-2440283 and 0194-2430581 (for Kashmir division) -- have been activated.
