The main Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here is now a non-Covid-19 hospital and no suspected or proven case of Covid-19 will be admitted there till further orders.

This is as per the modified order of the Director General of Health Services, Government of Delhi.

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital has designated its affiliated hospital Sir Ganga Ram Kolmet Hospital at Pusa Road as Covid-19 only hospital as approved by the Government of Delhi. All suspected/proven cases of Covid-19 will be admitted to this hospital.

A properly isolated and dedicated fever clinic will be run both at the main hospital as well as the affiliated Sir Ganga Ram Kolmet hospital.

So far, only three cases were found to be positive at the hospital and 108 healthcare workers involved in the care of these patients were quarantined in the interest of health workers, their families and society at large.

So far only one quarantined worker has tested positive but has no symptoms yet. At the end of two weeks of quarantine, all quarantined staff will be tested for Covid-19.

DS Rana, Chairman, board of management, Ganga Ram Hospital, said that in order to provide care to the patients, a virtual OPD has been started and this will continue even after the lockdown is over in order to reduce the burden of people in the OPD.

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Rajinder Nagar, (main campus) will be admitting patients who are not suspected or confirmed cases of Covid-19.

However, in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, all precautions will be taken by all the staff as per the guidelines issued by the government.

SGRH is recognised for doing Covid-19 testing and will adopt any innovative testing method recommended by the ICMR.

Consultants of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital are providing follow up consultations over telephone through various apps. IANS
