A commoner duo -- Nirmal Kumar Jain, a principal at a Delhi school, and Pankaj Kumar Kansal, an accountant at a corporate outlet -- have come on roads to distribute water, juice and soft drinks to the police personnel who are standing on ground to ensure proper enforcement of the lockdown.
The duo is travelling across the national capital to distribute the drinks to help the police personnel and other corona warriors to keep them hydrated during the tough times.
Speaking to IANS, Jain said, "In these tough times that our country is facing, we wanted to do our bit for the society. While a lot of people are distributing food and necessary items to the poor, we thought that we would focus on the police personnel.
"Apart from police personnel, we are also offering this service to the medical staff, sweepers, MCD staff and the other corona warriors."
Meanwhile, Ashok Mittal, the owner of Delhi's Royal Plaza Hotel, too turned a social activist and donated a sum of Rs 51,00,000 to the PM-CARES Fund.
"These are times to stay united. So, I decided to do my bit by making a donation to the PM-CARES Fund," he said. IANS
