Modi to unveil Kalam's statue

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a statue of late former president Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on Thursday to mark his 84th birth anniversary.

"Glad to join Dr. Kalam's birth anniversary celebrations, which includes unveiling of his statue and photo exhibition," Modi tweeted.

A photo exhibition titled as "A Celebration of Dr. Kalam's Life" will also be inaugurated by Modi at DRDO Bhavan here.

Kalam, who died in July, was a career scientist, before becoming India's 11th president, holding officer from 2002 to 2007. - IANS
