COVID-19: 19 held in New Delhi district for flouting lockdown norms

As many as 19 persons have been arrested in the New Delhi district here on charges of violation of lockdown norms and disobedience of lawful instructions issued by public servants, the police said on Wednesday.
"We have registered 15 cases under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and arrested 19 persons," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) New Delhi, Eish Singhal.
The senior official said that sufficient number of police personnel were deployed at police posts and checkpoints within New Delhi district.
"The general public was told through loudspeakers to abide by the instructions issued by the government. However, despite clear instructions, some people refused to obey the lawful directions and hence were arrested," he said. IANS
