Two more positive cases in Gurugram

On Tuesday, second day of the lockdown, several residents were seen on streets in the Gurugram and Faridabad district. The officials, however, said the numbers were much lower than day one of lockdown.
Gurugram also reported two more positive coronavirus cases, raising the total to 10. The new cases were reported from Emar Palm Garden sector 83 and Palam Vihar.
With these two, Palam Vihar has become most infected with 4 positive cases. Nirvana country sector 50 and Sector 9A has 2 cases each, and Sushant Lok one positive case.
Several lockdown violators have booked under various IPC sections.
In Faridabad, 20 FIRs have been registered for violation and the police arrested 47 people. The police also issued challans against 78 motorists and 22 vehicles were impounded. Local police also initiated inquiry against 361 motorists for coming on the streets without valid reasons.
In Gurugram, 33 people have been booked for being on streets.
Several chemist and grocery shops have drawn line infront of their stores to maintain the one-meter social distancing.
To stop panic buying, Gurugram District Magistrate Amit Khatri said adequate food and vegetables were available in the district.
Vinay Yadav, secretary of the Gurugram market committee, said essential items would continue to be available in the city.-IANS
