Haryana appoints 447 doctors to fight coronavirus

The Haryana government has appointed 447 doctors and created a revolving fund of Rs 100 crore for each crucial departments to battle the coronavirus, officials said on Tuesday.
The departments include Medical Education and Research, Health, Revenue, Home and Urban Local Bodies.
The decisions in this regard were taken by Chief Secretary Keshni Anand Arora at a meeting here.
It was decided the appointment letters would be issued in relaxation of the conditions of character verification and medical examinations in a bid to fill vacant posts on priority.
It was decided that testing facilities at four private laboratories would begin and 50 per cent of their capacity would be reserved for the government to use.
The cost of tests referred by the state Health Department to these facilities would be borne by the state.
Apart, N-95 mask supply would be expedited by coordinating with suppliers so that emergency staff and officials on duty could be provided on an emergent basis. IANS
