J&K police personnel to attend duties on alternate week

In the wake of coronavirus threat, the Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters on Saturday issued a set of instructions asking police emoloyees to attend their duties on an alternate week basis.
In the 19-point instructions issued by Additional Director General of Police (Coordination), S.J.M. Gillani, the officers have been directed to install thermal scanners at entry points of offices and place hand sanitizers.
The officers have also been asked to discourage entry of visitors with routine issues.
The police officers have also been asked to hold meetings through video conferences, avoid unnecessary official travel, ensure availability of hand sanitisers, soaps and running water in police institutions and distribute protective gears among cops, especially those who are engaged directly in COVID-19 duty.
It have also been directed that police personnel who have travelled abroad and have returned by or after February 15 be sent to 14 days of compulsory quarantine.
Besides, police personnel who have met their relatives having foreign travel history after February 15 should voluntarily inform about such contact to the supervisory officers concerned and be put on compulsory quarantine, the advisory said. IANS
