Man uses matrimonial site to dupe, rape woman in Delhi

Police have arrested a man who allegedly used a matrimonial website to befriend and rape a woman after luring her on the pretext of marriage.
Defence Colony Police On Saturday informed IANS, " The victim, a resident of Delhi's Defence Colony, has filed a complaint in this regard. According to the complaint, the 28-year-old victim, whose divorce case is ongoing and is expected to be legally separated with her husband soon, has created a profile on a matrimonial site in search of a groom."
The accused got in touch with the victim through the website. He befriended the victim and on January 2, he called the victim for a meeting at a guest house in Delhi. The accused allegedly raped her, said police.
Following the incident, the accused also deleted his social media accounts. The victim narrated the incident to her family and registered a complaint with the Defence Colony police station.
Police arrested the accused earlier this week after the accused confessed to the crime during interrogation. IANS
