DMK creating fear psychosis among minorities: TN CM
13-March-2020
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami on Friday said the opposition DMK was creating a fear psychosis in the minority community.
Speaking in the Assembly about the National Population Register (NPR) and the census, Palaniswami charged the DMK with misinformation.
Referring to the census, Palaniswami said the DMK leader had told anti-NPR protesters not to cooperate with the government. The Chief Minister sought to know the connection between census enumeration and NPR.
Palaniswami said Revenue Minister R. B. Udhayakumar on Thursday told the media what he had already said in the Assembly and hence there is no breach of privilege.
He also said the NPR was brought by the Central government when the DMK was part of it in 2003 with a provision to addition and deletion of certain parameters. The Central government has added some aspects now.
Palaniswami told DMK President M.K. Stalin that he could raise questions based on what was said in the House and not what has been reported in newspapers. IANS
