23-September-2015
Key members of the ex-servicemen's group protesting in the capital over the 'One Rank One Pension' (OROP) issue said on Wednesday that they have received threats.
Col. Anil Kaul (retd), spokesperson of the United Ex-Servicemen Front, told IANS that many members of the governing body, including Maj. Gen. Satbir Singh (retd), Group Captain V.K. Gandhi (retd) and himself, have received threats.
"There have been threats to several governing body members. There is no specific threat but they say things like 'we will fix you'," Col. Kaul told IANS.
"We found one policeman clicking a picture of Satbir's car, we stopped him," he said.
The veterans are protesting at Jantar Mantar, dissatisfied with the OROP scheme announced by the government. Wednesday was the 101st day of the agitation. - IANS
