Sheena murder: Judicial custody of accused extended
21-September-2015
A Mumbai court on Monday extended the judicial custody of all three prime accused in Sheena Bora's murder by a fortnight till October 5.
The accused are Indrani Mukerjea, the victim's mother, Mukerjea's ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and her former driver Shyamvar Rai. Their judicial custody of 14 days ended on Monday.
The case of the three was put up before the Bandra magistrate court via video-conferencing as police could not provide escort in view of the Ganeshotsav celebrations.
The defence and prosecution lawyers were present in the court.
The high-profile murder case was taken away from Mumbai Police and transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation as the Maharashtra government wanted to ensure a free and impartial probe.
Sheena Bora was murdered on April 24, 2012, allegedly by Indrani, Khanna and Rai who disposed off her partly burnt body in the forests in Raigad district. - IANS
