Three cow carcasses found in car in Pilibhit

Carcasses of three cows were recovered from a car after it overturned in a roadside ditch near Kanjanath Patti village under the Jahanabad police station on Sunday. The car was heading towards Richha town in Bareilly district from Pilibhit. The driver fled immediately after the accident.

The police have seized the car and lodged an FIR in the matter. The station house officer (SHO) said that the carcasses were buried after their autopsy.

The FIR has been lodged against unidentified person under various provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Prevention of Cow Slaughtering Act. The police are trying to track down the owner of the car.IANS
