Five Maoists arrested in Jharkhand

Five Maoist guerrillas, including a self-styled area commander, were arrested from Jharkhand's Palamu district on Monday, police said.
The five belong to the Jharkhand Janmukti Parishad from Dunandur village in Palamu district, around 170 km from Ranchi.
Acting on a tip-off about the presence of Maoist guerrillas, a joint team of police and the CRPF raided the village.
The arrested guerrillas were identified as 'area commander' Luvkush Kumar, Amardeep Kumar, Ravindra Kumar Ravi, Satyendra Paswan and Ravindra Kumar.
Two locally-made rifles, cartridges, uniforms, letter-heads and other items were seized, Palamu Superintendent of Police Mayur Patel said.
Many police cases are lodged against the Maoists in Hussainabad, Haidernager, Chattarpura and Padwa police stations. - IANS
