MI junior cricket: Gupta stars for Shri Rajendra in Nagpur
06-March-2020
Shri Rajendra High School continued their dominance by marching into the finals of the Nagpur leg of Mumbai Indians Junior 2020 cricket tournament in emphatic style.
Rajendra outclassed Bhavan's BP Vidyamandir, Ashti by ten wickets in the Boys U-14 semi-final on Friday.
Yash Gupta emerged the star in the semi-final with an unbeaten half-century in a successful chase after taking a three-wicket haul to play a crucial role in bowling out Bhavan's for a low score.
Gupta's bowling proved crucial as Bhavan's batsmen had no answer to the impressive bowling performance from Shri Rajendra, getting bowled out for a paltry 115 runs after battling out for 37 overs.
He then came to chase the innings with his opening partner Aryan Munde.
The duo remained unconquered and wrapped up the chase in just 15.4 overs with some dominating batting display. Munde top-scored with 62 not out while Gupta made exactly 50 in a match-winning opening stand of 118 runs. IANS
