Indians coming back from Pakistan are being scanned by the Indian authorities at the joint check post Attari for symptomatic symptoms of coronavirus (Covid-19), officials said on Thursday.
Similarly, screening has been going on at the Dera Baba Nanak check post at Gurdaspur for Indian devotees coming back on the Kartarpur Sahib corridor.
The corridor links Dera Baba Nanak shrine in India's Gurdaspur district with Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan's Narowal.
Non-contact thermometers have also been made available for screening of passengers at both check posts, besides displaying advisories, a government spokesperson told IANS.
He said that 70,106 passengers have so far been screened at the airports and border check posts. These included 47,671 at the Amritsar airport, 4,943 at the Mohali airport, 5,401 at Wagah-Attari border check post and 12,091 at the Dera Baba Nanak check post.
As on Thursday, 13 people were found symptomatic for Covid-19 with no positive case reported. IANS
