New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief J.P. Nadda have decided not to take part in Holi get-togethers this year following coronavirus outbreak. This was shared by the two in their tweets on Wednesday.

Sources in the Bharatiya Janata Party said after the announcement by the top party leaders, no other party leader would likely take part in any Holi get-together.

"Experts across the world have advised to reduce mass gatherings to avoid the spread of COVID-19...Hence, this year I have decided not to participate in any Holi Milan programme," the PM tweeted.

A similar tweet followed from Nadda. "The world is battling COVID-19. The countries & medical fraternity are jointly making efforts to contain its spread. Keeping this in mind, this year, I will neither celebrate Holi nor organise Holi Milan. Stay safe, stay healthy," Nadda tweeted. IANS
